If you do you probably like milk, cream, butter and yoghurt too?

Wow, then you must have a cow!  So many products from one animal. Every home should have one shouldn’t they?

No… why is that?  It’s cheaper to buy these products from the supermarket!

Think about it.

  • Cost to buy a cow
  • Keep it safe from predators or cow snatchers
  • Feed
  • Vet bills
  • Replace it every 10 or so years

Think about the cost in time and money to:

  • Milk it every morning at 4am
  • Every evening at 5pm
  • Store the milk
  • Churn the milk for butter, cheese
  • Cultivate the milk for yoghurt

Man what a job! Who would be mad enough to own a COW!

But if keeping a cow is so expensive and time consuming how are you able to buy that block of cheese for $3.99?

You have “outsourced” your dairy requirements.

Rather than every-one do all of the above, we have left it to the professionals who know how to care for cows and produce the various products that come from milk. They are sooo good at it, they can provide all your dairy needs for the fraction of the cost of owning a cow. Today, nobody owns a cow.
The same can be said of most business’s IT requirements. Today, many business’s own servers sitting in a room somewhere, chewing up electricity, generating heat and being looked after by either a full time IT employee or by an employee who has other duties and “looks after” IT when they can.

Wouldn’t it be great to “outsource these cows” and have them corralled safely in a Data Centre? If you’re not ready for that then why not outsource the management of your cows; ..err servers to professionals that can not only manage them for the fraction of the cost of hiring your own IT employees but who are able to work with you over time to carefully migrate these servers into a Data Centre and further lower your costs and risks.

Do what Bart says and outsource the management of your IT infrastructure to a professional who is sooo good they can deliver your IT requirements for the fraction of the cost of hiring your own IT staff.
