A Minute in Marketing

So what do you do when your marketing budget seems a little low? Staying fresh is always important in competing for business and the best way to do that is to use the best tool we have to communicate to our advantage. What am I talking about? The web, of course.

Many companies fall in to the trap of creating a website and then forgetting about it; letting the site content get stale and the look the same for visitors. The web has the best potential to speak directly to our customers in a one-on-one conversation. It’s interactive and has instant response potential. No other media reaches clients like the Internet.

So when times are a little tough, or your funds are squirreled away to another department, keep in mind, it’s not all over for the marketing department. Giving your website a refresh can be the boost your company needs to keep a consistent conversation between you and your customer.

A new look to the website can make the world of difference in keeping the face of your organisation evolving, exciting and new. It says to your customer, ‘we’re moving forward with a fresh new look and great new ideas’. It keeps your clients and potentials coming back to check out new or updated information. It’s also great to keep your product manuals, information fact sheets, and pricing all together on an easy to access website. Keep in mind; with a programmer on hand anything is possible with the web. If you can dream it, you can do it.

So don’t let your branding go down the gurgle because you’ve hit a bit of a rough patch. There is still plenty that you can do that won’t cost the big bucks involved in advertising on mainstream media – think outside the box, get a little creative, and utilise your web presence to talk to your audience directly.
